Thanks to Vickie and Moe!

The Titan Touchdown Club is about to take their last snap of the 2019 season this Monday, January 27th at 7:00 PM. The TTC will be meeting at Stevenson in the ECC room and we hope you’ll take the time to join us. During this meeting, we will install a new TTC Board but more importantly we will be giving thanks to two outgoing board members. Vickie Imms and Moe Wingfield have been a huge asset to the TTC and the Stevenson football program and are deserving of our gratitude.

Vickie has been our TTC President for two years. Her selfless acts have improved this club in immeasurable ways. Her leadership, as President, will be missed. Vickie was always energetic and enthusiastic. Vickie throws all her positive vibes and energy into the TTC as she understands the actions of the TTC directly benefit the players and program. Vickie took the time to create, plan, and implement fundraisers and events for our TTC. Her hard work and dedication have developed a genuine family atmosphere which we are all enjoying and benefiting from today. Our players are safer because they have Guardian Caps. Our coaches are better trained because they have a resource like ATAVUS, which is a tackling and analytics program. This is just the tip of the iceberg when highlighting the impact Vickie has had on the TTC and the Stevenson football program.

Vickie was the lead on the first ever Tastefest. This was a huge undertaking. Vickie organized volunteers, gathered vendors, dealt with weather issues, and did so with a smile. She deflects all praise saying the success of the Tastefest was because of the love and sacrifice of its volunteers. There is truth behind her statement, but we all know, if it wasn’t for Vickie, the likelihood of us even having a Tastefest would be slim to nil.

What is amazing is she does this while also balancing a full-time job and family obligations. A quote comes to mind when thinking about Vickie, “volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”

Vickie you are all heart and its what make you great! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Like Vickie, Moe balances two jobs, family life, and volunteering for the TTC. Moe’s infectious smile, humor, and laugh brings smiles to all. He keeps things light hearted and upbeat. Moe served as Vice-President for the TTC and his heart was set on making this program better for the boys. Outside of the normal duties of being a Vice President, Moe organized and planned the TTC’s first ever Euchre party. The Euchre party was a fundraiser to help the Stevenson football program, but Moe saw it, as an opportunity for the adults to get together to enjoy each other’s company and have fun. Fun was had and the event was a success. Moe’s positive attitude has helped develop the family culture we are all striving for in the TTC!

Moe was the master of doing the small things. Many don’t know how much Moe has given to the boys. We think Moe likes it that way. A verse from the Bible comes to mind when thinking about Moe, “For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted!”

Here is an example of Moe’s humility. The day before the Titans kicked off against Cass Tech the field was still loaded with snow. The day of the game the bleachers and field were being cleared. The snow cleared from the field was piled up on the Titan sideline. The weather was going to be cold at kickoff, so Moe spent his own money on a warming tent. With this warming tent, players could enter it and get warm during the game. Unfortunately, due to the piles of snow on the sideline the tent couldn’t be set up without interfering with play on the field. So, Moe grabbed his shovel and at 9:30 PM the night before the game began shoveling snow back off the sidelines. Because of his efforts the players were able to keep warm. Very few knew about this because Moe does it with humility and he does it for the boys.

The Titan Touchdown Club will greatly miss Vickie and Moe. We appreciate them and hope you’ll take the time to attend the meeting on January 27th at 7:00 PM in the ECC room to express your gratitude to these two individuals. If you cannot attend, take the time to drop them a text or email to say thank you. There emails can be found on the Titan Touchdown Club page on our website at www.stevensontitansfootball.com.

As we wrap this up, one final message to Vickie and Moe – Once a Titan, Always a Titan! We will see you soon because we are family!
